If it is system error code.
System error code 400 means "The thread is already in background processing mode." This error code may also display as "ERROR_THREAD_MODE_ALREADY_BACKGROUND" or as the value 0x190.

Reset the error code on a precor elliptical
Not familiar with an error 400 - and error 40 is an elevation error - it needs to be addressed(fixed) cannot really be reset otherwise. Check connections and fuses first. If it was recently put together, make sure the data cable was not pinched. If it is battery operated, an error 40 can occur when the battery is low.
