I have been unable to send faxes to different numbers for months now. I keep getting Error 344. It always sounds like HP 3050 is able to go as far as establishing the connection and then it fails.
Please help. I need this for my business and can't afford to keep running out to a fax/copy place when I should be doing this from home.

Set fax quality to standard (instead of fine or photo) and make sure the paper format is compatible with the receiving end (Europe > A4, UK and US > legal)

Disconnect your answering machine can help if it is on the same line. this has worked for me before, but NOT today! disconnect any slicers. not sure if that also means turn off computer if dsl. maybe it worked form e before cuz the computer was off. doesnt happen that it is off often, but mayeb. it's what i am going to try next.

To fix the problem fo to control panel, network and internet then internet options then connections then click on lan settings make sure both automatic detect settings and configuration scripts BOTH must NOT be CHECKED. then click okay and reload page.
