My sony tv has sound when you turn it on but no picture. We have unplugged the tv waited and the picture would finally come up. We called sony support and all they told us is to unplug. this morning when i got up the sound was there no picture but after cutting the tv off several times the picture appeared. now to come back home and have the same thing happen. after cont cutting off and on the picture will appear the sound is fine. the red light does not blink after the tv picture appears. when you first cut the tv on it blinks then. please help??? after the picture appears i have cut the tv off and on and the picture comes on its when you cut the tv off for a period of time there is no picture but we have sound.

Have the same problem with a samsung s4253, audio but no video.
but only one station/channel. other stations/channels have audio and video. samsung says to pull the plug, reset and rescan. this did not work. they then said it was the station broadcasting the signal. tv out of warranty, so am stuck. !!!!

Are you tuning to digital or analogue signals? the only reason i can think of for not receiving 1 channel but the others is that your antenna may just be on the cusp of the un-received channel. we also had some problems with digital reception of all channels - your antenna pointing must be precise. try altering the antenna direction in slight increments/decrements from where it is pointed, and for each movement do a re-tune and have someone in the room telling you "better" or "worse" so you can adjust accordingly. or get an antenna repairer to tune it for you - about $40
If you have video in other channel then it is the Cable company. You to map the channel if you are using tuner. Or you a problem on the mainboard. Note ( use other input like AV1,2 or Component.

The problem with the Sony TV is related to the power supply, more precisely, the SMPS output is just a bit high causing the microprocessor to go into protection mode cutting off the horizontal oscillation, but as sound has a different power source from the SMPS, it will work without any problem. You will have to get to a qualified sercive engineer to fix this problem.
