I Attempted to switch inputs and the screen went black, still have sound. A month or so ago I noticed a slightly darker spot on left side of screen while the TV was still working. Flash light test on blank screen shows menu. No backlights visible through vents in complete dark room. When powered on, LG logo flashes perfectly for half a second and the screen goes black. Researching has told me either to replace Power Supply board (where LED drivers are located) or LED strips. Which part would you start with?
Standard repair process for no video and normal audio is to check back light ON with ***** eye and if no backlight, check 24v output on Power Board. If no voltage then repair power board and replace faulty parts. If 24v are ok then replace or repair Inverter module. If you Inverter is working, you have to repair/replace back light. Sounds like the backlight has failed.
