First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board. if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having. U have some skills like take things aparts and putting it back together again?Yes?The tv Tuner signal board have problems,might even be the CPU itself have some kind of shorts.The Tuner signal board,that the board,where the incomming broadcasting signal wire plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish Tuner signal board for the replacement.

My bet is your power supply board has gone bad and some capacitors need to be replaced. If it's under warranty, take it to the shop for repair. If it's not, then you can replace them yourself or if you know some one who solders electronics they could do it also. To keep this from happening again buy a ups backup power supply which will condition the power to the tv and other components and save you alot of time and trouble later.

Hi the cable goes into the time warner first then you can plug an output from the warner into the telly if it has hdmi output then you can use this to connect to your telly, just make sure you use the telly remote to select the correct input so if your using hdmi port then you need to select this on the remote using the source button or input button or what ever button you use to select the source.

If you have unplugged the unit overnight and the problem is still happening then the problem lays withing the main printed circuit board or the main board.
I suggest contacting LG to find their closest authorised repair agent to obtain a main board or to have them look at the product.
Other things to ensure and to try is that your remote has fully charged batteries and you havn't spilt any substance that could be causing the remote button membrane to stick. Does this occour on all inputs as well as all channels? I also suggest doing a factory reset.

What kind of the connector for the sound are you trying to use? The TV has RCA audio outputs (Red and White RCA) and also optical out put for digital sound output.

Tries reset the tv and cable box,by unplug,replug both devices about an hour later.Let the cable boot up and update it softwares.Goto tv Menu goto PICTURE,go down to reset.The Tuner board it reseting to the Factory setting.The HDMI hubs,should all works now.Not than,the tv Tuner board have problems,must be change.Tries Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish a Tuner board for the replacement.

You PC video resolution is too high for this TV to display, you need to lower the resolution of your PC video card to the native resolution of this TV, 1920 x 1080 @60Hz

When the TV asks for the code, put in 7777 to reset the code.
Do not make the new code 7777!

This tv set it hookup to recieve over the free air DTV signal right?Get a better antena,hook up to a digital antena or a roof antena.This problems should be solved,when u get a better and stronger signals.

Hi,
that's pretty weird. A few things can cause odd behaviour. In order of least likely to most likely.
1. noise in AC. Do you have a surge protector on TV. Many have RFI (radio frequency interference) filters,since noisy power can make TV do odd stuff. If you don't have one ,try it.
2. Stuck button on TV. Does the TV have any buttons? If so, check to make sure one isn't partially stuck.
3. software. These LCDs are basically computers and sometimes get glitches. This link upgrade has software updates that might help. Or contact LG support on their website to see if they are aware of this issue and if this is a software issue or a hardware issue.
4. Hardware. The main pcb does everything in the TV and is where the software update would go to. It might be failing and need to be replaced.

I would replace the main board. I hope this helps. But first replace any swollen capacitors on the power board if there.I've seen this cause problems
