Do I need some kind of software to transfer files from old computer to new one ,both are HP 's
I'm assuming both computers are working correctly. What types of files do you need to transfer? If they are photos, videos and document files there are specialist cables and software that allow you to directly connect two computers and are a faster method but these can start to get expensive for quality Data Transfer cables and software.
Personally I would use either an external hard drive, a large capacity memory stick/card or online cloud storage.
Basically, transfer the files off the old computer to the external drive/cloud storage, then transfer from there to the new computer. It is more work and takes longer but it does also give you a backup copy of the files your moving.
I would like to migrate
For that you need to import it in 1 file.
Open outlook express then go to file menu then import ->address book.
Then save it to desktop then you can export in microsoft outlook with that file.

Please always include full 'make model (what it is). In your case here, for the computer and for the wireless keyboard.
Take the batteries out of the keyboard for an hour and replace them with new ones. Reboot the computer and re-pair to the keyboard.
For the bad switch on the computer, it just need cleaning with electrical switch cleaner or replacing.

You may try to use
repair dbx files. It launches under Windows 98 and higher. Tool is compatible with any software configurations. Application uses modern ways of recovering OE info. It can backup .dbx files too.

Unfortunately, a natural hair, not nylon ristle brush must be used otherwise static can damage the RAM chips and other sensitive components if static is generated. Natural bristle/hair brushes do not do that.
Try removing the RAM and HDD.
Power it on and check for error messages/beeps.
If it responds, add one RAM stick at a time and test each time.
When all RAM strips are installed and you get your error screen; No OS detected, power it down and add your HDD.
Set your BIOS to boot from the HDD and that's it.

It sounds like there is a problem with file associations - however, a quick fix is to
WinZip the file - and then attach it. Or you may prefer
WinRar which is better in my optinion.
If you use WinRar make sure you select the .ZIP option as shown in the image below. This is because more people use WinZip than WinRar so more people will be able to access the file.
